More Thoughts on Upcoming Winter

Accuweather has released their winter 2011-2012 forecast. Check it out:


I have checked many other weather sources, and I have to agree with this one too! The jet stream will be setting up just south of us, meaning most of Indiana can expect a cold winter ahead, with above normal snow! Also, a big ice threat for the central-southern Ohio Valley, that will also be determined by the position of the jet stream.

Here is an overlook at a typical La Nina pattern:


Notice that jet stream running through the Ohio Valley, meaning storm systems will move right through the Ohio Valley for the upcoming winter.

Fantastic Weather!

Good morning! What a fantastic week of weather we have had! Sunshine has been abundant, and temperatures are running way above normal. This streak looks to continue right through the weekend!

100% sunshine today, with highs in the lower 80s. It's going to be a great day to get outdoors & enjoy!

More of the same on Friday! In fact, middle 80s look possible tomorrow afternoon! Break out the shorts!!

And the same beat goes on right through the weekend. If you haven't noticed, the fall colors are really coming to life around here! With weather so nice, seems like the perfect weekend for those camping or doing any outdoor activities! Here is your weekend forecast:

The Gorgeous Weather Continues!

Good morning! A ridge of high pressure continues to keep the area sunny and warm! Temperatures over the next several days will continue to warm-up, nearly 15 degrees above normal!

Here is today's fantastic weather breakdown....

Wednesday Forecast:


Morning: 60s.

Noon: Lower 70s.

Afternoon: Lower 80s!

The same can be said each day through early next week! Sunny days, highs in the lower 80s each day, with cool, comfortable nights! Absolutely perfect weather!


High pressure continues to dominate the central-eastern half of the U.S. right through the weekend! This will likely be the last weekend in the 80s for the year, as changes are expected down the road. Models develop a hurricane somewhere in the Atlantic/gulf, and this may try to make a run toward us later next week. (Still too early to really tell at this point). This may also shift the pattern back to a cooler & active one towards the second half of the month.

Beautiful Weather Continues!!

Good morning! Has the weather been great or what? We have got ourselves caught under a huge ridge of high pressure, and it won't be going anywhere anytime soon!

A gorgeous start this morning, temps in the middle 40s. Highs today will soar in the upper 70s! 100% sunny skies expected. Here is today's breakdown:

Tuesday Forecast:

Morning: Near 60.

Noon: Upper 60s.

Afternoon: Upper 70s!

Just simple & sweet, the rest of the week through the middle of next week will feature more sunny days, and even warmer temps! Highs will hit the lower 80s each day after today! It just doesn't get better than this! :)

They have had over 9" of the white stuff the past three days!! So early in the season, too!! This could be a sign of things to come for us! :) I love snow.. but I will take this weather anytime over snow!!

A gorgeous week ahead!!!!

Good morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend, as the weather turned out great! This first weekend of October offered the first frost of the season! Despite the cool start yesterday, we were able to warm back in the upper 60s! And the warm-up begins today!

Today will be fantastic around here, with wall-to-wall sunshine! A warmer air mass will begin to kick in, with highs in the lower 70s!

Another clear, cool fall night tonight, but not as cool. Lows will dip in the 40s.

The rest of the week will be GORGEOUS!! 100% sunshine expected each day, with highs in the middle-upper 70s tomorrow, then 80s Wednesday & beyond! This same pattern may stick around for the next 10-12 days or so! Reason behind this gorgeous stretch? Ridge of high pressure!! The pattern remains really slow-moving, blocky around here, so the ridge will be staying right over us for quite some time! Here is a better look at the overall pattern across the nation:

Notice the Big "H" right on top of us, and the trough along the east, with another trough out west. That ridge will have no where to go, so it will sit right on top of us for the next 10 days or so, bringing that stretch of sunny, warmer weather!

This pattern couldn't of come at a better time, as the fall colors are beginning to show up. This will make for perfect weather for camping, sightseeing, or any outdoor plans!

Good afternoon! What a gorgeous, fall day it is out there! I hope you have been able to get out & enjoy it! Temperatures have warmed in the middle 60s.

Heading out this evening, the gorgeous weather will continue! Temps will drop quickly after sunset. Lows tonight will dip back in the upper 30s-low 40s, with patchy frost possible.

Sunny skies expected EACH DAY THIS WEEK!! This gorgeous weather should last through next weekend, too!! Highs will range from the 70s Monday-Wednesday, warming near 80 Thursday-Sunday!!
