How Hot Will It Get?

Good morning! We are REALLY turning up the heat, as we have one last heat wave taking grip on Indiana. Indy hit 95 yesterday, even though models only predicted upper 80s. Why? That is because models don't detect dry ground, so you have to add about five degrees on to what the models are showing when we have such a dry ground.

Highs today will reach the upper 90s. Heat indices will be in the low 100s this afternoon. We should stay dry with hazy sunshine.

Lows tonight will only drop in the 70s, as we stay humid & dry.

More sun & dangerous heat for Friday. I am predicting 98 for Indy, but it is very possible for Indy to reach 100, as we have a similar set-up from July, when Indy hit 100 on July 21. Heat indices: 100-110! Ouch!

LABOR DAY WEEKEND: It looks like we should stay dry most of Saturday, with highs in the upper 90s, again!! If you live in northern Indiana, you will see the rain by Saturday afternoon. If you live in central Indiana, you should stay dry until the later evening hours Saturday. If you are in southern Indiana, it will stay dry until overnight Saturday. The main rain/storm chance comes Saturday night & Sunday. Some severe storms are possible during this time. By Monday, we are back to sun, and MUCH COOLER WEATHER!
Middle 70s and sunshine for our Labor Day, making for the best day of any outdoor family activities.

All of next week will only be in the middle-upper 70s! We can see a couple mornings with widespread 40s for lows! WOW!! :)

COLTS GAME FORECAST:

If you are heading down to Cincinatti to watch the Colts, it will be very hot and muggy! Kickoff temperature will be in the low 90s. Skies will be partly cloudy, and it should be dry.

I hope to have another update later this morning on the tropics, because there are a few things that we need to keep an eye on. Make it a great day, & stay cool!
