Good evening, everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. It has been a decent weekend weather-wise across the state! Hard to believe a snowstorm is taking place to our south (of all places) across portions of Tennessee, Kentucky, and the Virginias. Up to 9" could accumulate in some places there. Here is a picture from Prestonburg, Kentucky:
Yup, I've pretty jealous! :) I have been waiting all winter to get a good snow in Indiana, but it's unreal how hard it has been to get any snow around here, and now I'm all for spring warmth and thunderstorms! Who's with me? :)
Looking ahead, we have a very cold night coming. Many areas will drop into the lower 20's by morning. This is not something people would normally say in winter, but if you have any blooming daffodils, be sure to cover them up! Hard to believe we have EASTER flowers blooming in February. A full month early at least. Despite a cold start tomorrow, it will turn out to be a great day. Highs will warm into the upper 40's, with tons of sunshine around.
The warming trend will continue through much of the week, but... there will be many rain chances. The rain returns to the forecast as early as tomorrow night, as a disturbance moves through.
That rain will move out by Tuesday afternoon, as highs warm near 50. Even warmer air is set to arrive Wednesday! Some areas in southern Indiana could approach 58 degrees, with 53-55 degrees in central Indiana. Despite the warmth, some scattered showers will remain possible. Cooler will gradually move in by the end of the week, as the scattered rain remains in the forecast. By Saturday, we could be talking snow showers, as a quick cold shot of air moves in.
I say quick shot of air, because another rapid warm-up will build in behind this blast. 50s are likely return early the following week. Then perhaps another shot of cold air. We may have to watch for severe weather during these warm to cold situations. Certainly a very up and down for sure! By March, I think the warm air will be winning the battle.
Thanks for checking the blog, have a great night. God Bless!
