Good morning! It is already a very warm morning outside, with temps in the upper 60s. If you thought yesterday was warm, wait until you hear today's forecast!
We will be looking at partly sunny sky today, with highs in the mid 80s! Keep in mind the humidity will be much higher than yesterday, so the heat index could reach 86-90. If you are outside working today, be sure to stay hydrated! Along with the heat, pop-up storms are possible, with heavy downpours being possible.
Wednesday will be more of the same, with partly sunny skies, and pop-up storms. I think a lot of places will stay dry, but the risk is there. Highs will hit the mid-upper 80s. Our dewpoints by tomorrow will be in the 70s, which is VERY uncomfortable. Heat indices could top 90 tomorrow!!
Thursday will be another day in the 80s, along with a better chance of storms.
The pattern will shift by the weekend, with a much cooler and active pattern setting up. Highs this weekend may struggle to get out of the 60s. Keep in mind, there will be dry hours each day this weekend, but there will also be wet hours!
Next Week: Next Monday is a day that we all want to be nice, because of our Matthew 5:16 day! Right now, it looks like we may see some scattered showers, with highs only in the mid 60s. I will continue to update that forecast!
It looks like the overall pattern is finally shifting into a more late spring pattern. The cold air is being scoured out of Canada, and the overall pattern is trending warmer. Here are temp anomalies from now through the end of May:
As you can see, a cooler pattern is going to set-up this weekend and early next week, then I expect a warm up by the middle of next week. The overall pattern towards the last 12 days of May or so, suggest a warm pattern to set-up. That's a pattern we all like! Let's hope we get in a dry pattern as well!
