Good morning! I know there were warnings with some of the storms yesterday, and I'm sorry I didn't update! A major tornado hit Joplin, MO yesterday, nearly destroying the whole town. My thoughts and prayers are with them. I can't say enough how lucky we are! That same line moved across the state last night, but lost it's power by time it hit the state.
-Another risk of dangerous storms across the state again today, with hail and damaging winds main threats. Here is the SPC map:
Today will be another muggy summer-like day, with highs in the low-mid 80s.
-A squall line may move through later this evening, and this needs to be watched closely. The atmosphere is just right for severe storms at anytime overnight.
-Scattered showers and severe storms will be more numerous tomorrow, with highs near 80.
-More of the same Wednesday and Thursday, with highs in the low 80s Wednesday, and the mid 70s Thursday. Isolated shower will continue Friday, with highs around 70. We will not have complete washouts any day this week, but storms could occur at any time.
-Another huge story is the flooding! It appears that 3-5" of rain is possible by Thursday. If this does occur, this will mean high river levels all over again, especially down south where they really don't need it!
-Next weekend is the big race weekend, along with it being Memorial Weekend. It appears spotty showers will be possible, with refreshing highs in the low 70s. I am not expecting a washout of a weekend. Memorial day looks like more of the same, with temps near 80. Highs will return to the 80s next week, along with an unsettled pattern.
Before I go, here are tracking tools for today's storms:
Have a great day!!
