Updated 8:17pm Saturday.... Good evening everyone! I apologize for not updating things yet today. I am just about ready to pull my hair out just looking at the tricky pattern this week! I hope you enjoyed the sunshine today, because it going to be a LONG time before we see sunshine again, possibly more than a week! It's a very confusing forecast that can produce as much as 5" of rain along the Ohio River this week, and could bring accumulating snow sometime middle-late week, as the polar express comes into the picture. Just warning you, this forecast can and WILL change! I am just here to put my input of what I think is going to happen.
Right Now: Rain is getting close, on the Indiana/Illinois border.
This rain will arrive after midnight, and make for a soggy Sunday.
Any good news? Well, areas north of I-70 should catch a break later in the day, with the rain just keeps on keeping on to the south. Temperatures will remain in the upper 40's tomorrow.
Any breaks in the rain will quickly be replaced for really the entire state on Monday, with chilly and soaking rains:
It will be chilly Monday, but precip. should stay all liquid during the daylight hours. Showers will continue Monday night, and it may mix with a little snow north of Indy metro Monday night. Temps will be well above freezing. My main concern is the flooding! The ground is already soaked as could be, and southern Indiana is now in the risk of excessive rainfall Monday into Tuesday:
Rain totals could hit the 5" mark in extreme southern Indiana by Thursday, with 2-3" across central Indiana:
The forecast beyond Tuesday is very iffy! There will be several disturbances moving through, that could bring snow chances to the forecast at different points. One thing for sure....... It's going to get COLD! More on that in the coming days.
I will try to have another update some point tomorrow. Have a great night!
