Tracking An End To The Rain...FINALLY!!

Good afternoon. Thanks for checking into the blog! Here we are on yet another rainy day! If this was snow, we would be talking 2-3 feet of it! Anyway, Evansville, Paducah, and Louisville have now hit the record books for the wettest year EVER! Not a record that I was wanting to see us break! :( Rain will stick around through the evening, and may end with a few flakes tonight.

As the rain ends, there could be a brief period of moderate snow in northern Indiana, where an inch of snow could fall in a narrow band. On the map below, I circled the area where the best snow chances would be:
Again, this would be later this evening. In the Indy metro, I am expecting nothing more than a flake or two. Areas like Kokomo, Logansport, Plymouth, Gas City, Fort Wayne, stand the best chance for a quick inch of snow tonight.

On Tuesday, weak disturbance may bring a few flakes tomorrow, but no big deal, as most areas will stay dry and chilly:

Skipping ahead toThursday, we will see a storm system to our south, but at this time it shouldn't affect our weather across the Hoosier state. On the map below, I circled the areas where accumulating snow would be possible:

Parts of southeastern Kentucky could get several inches, as seen on the NAM:

I think any accumulating snows would be well south and east of the Ohio River, more likely in the appalacians. The NAM is likely too far north and west on this map. Still need to fine-tune this, because if there was to be a shift northward, parts of southern Indiana would have the risk for snow Thursday, but at this time that's a VERY small chance. I hate to be a debbie downer on all the snow lovers out there! Remember, it's not even winter yet!! :)

All in all, the pattern is going to turn much quiter and seasonal for the next week and a half or so.

Have a great evening everyone!
