Good afternoon! Are you liking today's weather? To be honest, I enjoy this weather! It is a great wintry day out there! Snow is flying around, the ground has a fresh layer of 1-2" of snow. By the way, the picture on the right was taken in Louisville, KY. They picked up 1/2"-2" in southern Indiana, Louisville area.
More Snow Tomorrow? A clipper is going to move across southern Indiana tomorrow afternoon and evening. It looks like a coating to 1" could accumulate across south-central Indiana, down to north-central Kentucky.
I can't stress enough, it will be a very light event! The main band will only be 30-50 miles wide, so it is very hard to pinpoint who gets the snow.
Looking Ahead: Another warm-up for MLK day, with rain likely. The storm may end as light snow later Tuesday, as temps crash again. Will need to watch how much moisture is left when cold air arrives, as that will determine whether any accumulations occur. Things are looking more and more interesting late next week for snow lovers. A nice shot of chilly air moves in Wed/Thurs as another potent storm system develops for Friday-Saturday (20-21). Some models show the potential for a winter storm during this time. Don't get excited yet, that forecast is subject to change. Overall, an bi-polar pattern remains, but certainly looking a bit more interesting for snow-lovers! :)
By The Way.. Be sure to bundle up in the layers as you head out this evening! Another thing to watch for all lingering areas of snow. Some areas will see an additional coating this evening.
Stay tuned for more updates! Have a great evening!
