Good afternoon! I was planning to discuss a lot more than what I am, but my time is limited. I will have more on the fun/interesting long-term discussions this weekend. Here are the highlights:
1) Friday Night Football Forecast
2) Indian Summer This Weekend
3) Warmth Monday/Tuesday
4) Big system late Tuesday/Wednesday
5) Much colder/first snow flakes next Wednesday-Thursday?
1) Friday Night Football Forecast:
Should be a great evening for football! It will be dry and chilly, with temps falling through the 40s after sunset. Be sure to bring the heavier jackets/sweaters.
2) Indian Summer This Weekend:
A great weekend filled with sunny/mild afternoons, and clear, crisp nights. Highs will be well in the 60s. Enjoy!
3) Warmth Monday/Tuesday:
While a couple showers are possible during this time, most of them will fall on Monday, then dry on Tuesday, with unseasonably mild temps in the mid-upper 60s Monday, lower 70s Tuesday!! Again, here is a look at the small shower chance during this time on the models:
4) Big Storm Late Tuesday/Wednesday:
A big storm system will move through later Tuesday evening-Wednesday, with a round of soaking rains. We could see a good inch or more during this time. Here is a look at how heavy & widespread this rain will be:
Tuesday night:
Wednesday:
5) Much Colder/first snow flakes Wednesday night/Thursday?
The models are being more robust now on the cold behind this system. It now appears cold air will catch the back edge of the precip late Wednesday, switching it over to a quick period of snow. If this does happen, accumulation certainly won't occur. Then we would have some wrap-around snow showers/sprinkles on Thursday, with our highs in the middle 40s at best. This isn't a sold idea yet, but worth mentioning. Here is a look at the colder air for this time period:
A "fun" long-term blog post coming up sometime this weekend, so be sure to stay tuned to the blog! Have a great evening!
