Good afternoon! Welcome to another wonderful day out there! Temps are already getting close to 70! This has been one of the warmest opens to November in quite some time! Enjoy it, signs are really showing up of an early start to winter, and may be here way sooner than you might think! :) More on that in just a minute, but first let's get through the current weather. Here is your evening forecast:
Evening Forecast
Sunny & Warm! 65-70.
Tonight looks dry, but the next system will move our way tomorrow. Showers should begin sometime after 10am, and will be a chilly & wet afternoon. Here is model breakdown:
Tomorrow morning:
Tomorrow afternoon:
Tomorrow evening/night:
Notice the trend in the models, keeping much of the rain Indy southward/westward. Basically I think areas NE of Indy will see the light totals, with a good 1/2" or so in Indy, while areas west/south of Indy could reach 1". Here is the HPC rainfall map:
Things will quickly dry out, warm up for Friday-Sunday. Highs this weekend will be well into the 60s, with mostly sunny skies. Who knows, this could be the last really nice weekend outdoors, so enjoy all the time outdoors that you can! Oh yeah, don't forget about to change your clocks back 1 hour Saturday night!
Early next week will feature more changes, and the first change will be a front stalling out in the area Monday:
This will mean a chance of scattered showers Monday. Now, that same front stalls out just south of us, as a huge system rides along that front. Whopper amounts of rainfall could accompany this system Tuesday-Wednesday. Here is a look at it on the GFS:
Tuesday November 8th:
Wednesday November 9th:
We could see 1-3" from this, along with some severe storms, so stay tuned. Also, very mild temps well in 60s, maybe 70 for some Tuesday. Once this system moves out, cooler air will arrive later Wednesday-Thursday.
Now on to the pattern change expected mid-month. The models are really beginning to show it. A system around the 14th-17th, will likely be the storm to change the entire weather pattern. Here is a look at it on the models:
Notice the "H" over Montana, with those tight isobars around it. That would be a massive cold high pressure behind this system, and from then on we will have increased threats of snowfall as we towards Thanksgiving and beyond. Of course strength and placement of cold will still have to be fine-tuned, as to how cold we could be talking about. I am just giving you a heads up that an early start to winter is likely this year. It will be interesting for sure!
Thanks for checking the blog, have a great evening!
