Nice Warm Up On The Way! Early Look At Thanksgiving!
Good afternoon, and happy Veteran's Day to all! Before I get to the weather, let's all stop and honor all those that have served our country! We are truly blessed to have men risking their lives daily, to keep us a FREE nation under GOD!!
Now to the weather, lot of stuff to talk about, here are today's highlights:
Highlights:
1) Weekend warm-up!
2) Active pattern all next week
3) Long Range look, Thanksgiving preview
1) Weekend Warm-Up:
Southwest winds will turn gusty tomorrow, pumping in noticeably warmer air! Highs tomorrow will be near 60 for many, with sunshine! Another nice Saturday! Lower 60's Sunday, with a slight shower chance. By no means are we talking a washout, just a couple showers expected on radar by Sunday afternoon. Take a look at this on the map below:
Sunday Afternoon:
2) Active Pattern Next Week:
It appears an active and rather mild pattern will be on tap next week. Monday will be unusually mild, in the middle 60s. Scattered showers will also be possible along a cold front that will be settling into the area. Here is a look at this on the models:
Similar set-up Tuesday, however gradually moving south of the area through the day:
Right now, the second half of next week looks mainly dry for now, however the models aren't too clear yet. It looks like a cold blast will hit just of the area, with our temps staying near average.
Long Term/Early Look At Thanksgiving:
Another nice warm up expected by next weekend, as another system looks to move in by Sunday, November 20th.
Check out all that arctic air wrapping behind this system, once again manly north of us:
What happens after this system is still yet to be seen. I do want to point out that the models do show a good chunk of the country seeing snowfall on the ground by Thanksgiving, and looks to be as close as northern Illinois for Thanksgiving Day. The rest of country looks to share their snowfall with us sometime just after Thanksgiving, as we get our turn for the fun and snow! In fact, December is looking much like how last year's was, cold and snowy!
More updates through the weekend, and also on facebook. Have a great evening!
