(6/11) Heat & Severe Storms

Quiet weather for today, with sunshine around and temperatures heating up! Expect highs to reach the middle to upper 80's in many areas later today. Good day to hit up the pools, just apply the sunscreen - you will need it!

Storm chances could arrive as soon as tonight, depending on your location. Any storms tonight should stay north of I-70, and they will be isolated. It will be a very warm and muggy night, with low temps only falling near 70.

For tomorrow, it will be a battle between very hot temperatures and storms. From Indy northward, there will be a chance of thunderstorms by tomorrow afternoon, with some possibly severe. Areas south will stay dry and hot. Highs tomorrow should reach the middle 90s in southern Indiana, near 90 central, and cooler middle/upper 80's north due to more clouds and storm activity.

By tomorrow night, everybody will have a good chance of thunderstorms. This could be in the form of a derecho, aka storms producing damaging winds. The highest chances of getting severe weather will be north of I-70, but just about everybody will have at least a chance of severe thunderstorms. Could be a noisy, busy night tomorrow night, so be sure to check back for the latest updates!

Also, parts of the state are going to get very heavy rain
between now and Thursday. Areas north of I-70 could see 1-2" of rain, with perhaps 3"+ in parts of northeastern Indiana. Rain totals south of I-70 should be lighter. However, that could change depending on the actual track of the storm complex tomorrow night.
