ACTIVE PATTERN IS GOING NOWHERE!

Good evening. Wow, this pattern has been very active over the past week. Some areas picked up almost two month's worth of rain in these past 7 days alone, and there is yet more rain to come. I know the farmers are loving all this rain, but in some locations the rain has been too much, actually flooding the fields and washing out some of the crops. 

This is such a drastic change from this same time last year. Most days from now through a good part of July had highs ranging from the middle 90's to low 100's each day along with little to no rain. Over the next few days, our temperatures will struggle to even get out of the 70's!

Along with the cooler temps, rain and some thunderstorms

will remain in the forecast, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours, with peak daytime heating. I do not expect a washout any day, but numerous thunderstorms could impact any outdoor plans. Rainfall amounts will vary from place to place due to the scattered variety of the storms, but an overall .75"-1" is likely, with some areas getting as much as 2" in the heavier bands that set up. To be as specific as I can, it looks like the highest chances for the shower and thunderstorm activity will be tomorrow and Tuesday, then lower coverage Wednesday-Friday. Highs will struggle to get out of the 70's for the first part of the week, but should reach 80+ mid-week and after due to slightly more sun and more dry hours expected. To the top right is the WPC precipitation accumulation through Wednesday.

Right now, the outlook for the 4th includes a risk for isolated afternoon storms, otherwise partly sunny with highs in the low/mid 80's.
