TRACKING A HEAT WAVE

While many Indiana cities have hit 90 degrees at least once this summer, the official reporting site for Indianapolis still has yet to read 90! That is going to change in the days ahead, as a heat ridge parks itself over the Hoosier state.

This means that through Friday high temperatures are expected to reach 90-95, but that's just one side of the heat situation. We will have very high humidity in place, which will bring that real feel temperature near 100 degrees each afternoon. The air quality will continue to worsen through the week due to the stagnant weather pattern in place, something to keep in mind if you have respiratory issues. Since it has been a relatively cool summer and nearly 11 months since heat of this magnitude has hit us, I think it would be good to brush up on some heat safety tips.

The weekend will feature the return of rain chances and a cool-down. Until then, stay cool my friends!
