Get Ready A Wild Ride Of Temps Over The Next Several Days!

Over the next week, we've got anything from temps in the teens, to 50's t'storm chances by later next week. Yup, get ready for the wild rollercoaster of weather we call the Ohio Valley! I am going to show you guys a peek at the longer-range pattern, all the way through Christmas. Yes, there is potential for a big-time snowfall between now and Christmas! So be sure to read the entire blog post! Here we go....

A Cold Weekend:

Get ready for a FRIGID night! Lows will dip between 10-17 degrees statewide. Yes, some outline areas may be in the single digits tomorrow morning. To keep your pipes from freezing, it would be smart to keep your water faucets dripping overnight! The good news is that we will see abundant sunshine through the weekend. However tomorrow will be the coldest high temp since February! By Sunday, we will see a warming trend. Temps by Sunday afternoon will be in the upper 30s!

MUCH Warmer Next Week!!:

A zonal flow (east to west flow) will develop across the U.S bringing much milder pacific air, with several days in the 40's. However, this will mean another active time for us. By Wednesday, the next storm will be moving into the Hoosier state. This storm system is going to track WAY up north, bringing in very balmy air for Thursday. We will see temps next Thursday surging in the the low 50s, with a potential of severe weather as a squall line comes through Thursday afternoon. Here is a good look at this on the GFS:

By Friday, we will temporarily dry out. It is after next Friday will things get VERY interesting! A wave of low pressure may ride along the front for next weekend, as cold air moves in. This could be a perfect set-up for some accumulating snow, but I would like to get closer before even detailing about it. Still mark your calanders for the 17-18th and stay tuned! The pattern towards the week of Christmas will feature a ridge out west, and a trough across the eastern U.S. This could set us up for some snowy times ahead for the end of the month!

Keep dreaming of a white Christmas, because I think it's a real potential! I will keep you posted over the next few weeks!

Have a great evening, and God bless!!
