Moderate risk for severe storms today! Tornado Watch until 7pm

Good morning! Thanks for checking the blog! We have a moderate risk for severe storms today. Also, a tornado watch was just issued for the area until 7pm! There are several reasons why today's storms could be very serious! Here is a breakdown of today's weather:

-A warm front is moving across the Ohio Valley this morning. There are showers and storms along and ahead of it. These will continue off and on through the morning.

-As the warm front lifts north, skies will clear and the atmosphere will become VERY hot, humid, and unstable. That sun will add to the instability and spark dangerous supercells later today. There is a ton of shear in the atmosphere today, so strong tornadoes are a big concern today. Large hail and damaging winds are very high threats today as well. While a strong storm is possible early, the best time for these storms will be from 2pm-10pm.

Looking ahead to the holiday weekend.. there will be some major heat building! Just a spotty shower Saturday, with highs in the upper 70s-low 80s. Upper 80s for race day, and 90 degree heat for Memorial Day. There will also be lots of sunshine.
