A summer-like week ahead!

Good morning! I hope everyone had an awesome Mother's Day weekend! As far as the weather, there is some major warmth to build in over the next several days. Almost like a little heat wave.

Today's weather looks awesome, with a partly sunny sky, and highs in the upper 70s.

We have a blocked up set-up across the country, with a trough in the west, a low pressure in the Atlantic, and a ridge across the midwest. This suggest several warm and humid days to come. Many areas to our west in the Plains could get well into the 90s this week. We will be on the outside of the hottest temps. Here is a map that shows the pattern set-up this week:

A system will move along a stationary warm front tonight, meaning showers or storms possible with daytime heat and especially tonight. Lows will be in the 60s!

Tomorrow will be like a typical summer day, with highs surging in the mid 80s or better, with higher humidity levels. A few am showers are possible, otherwise we should see some sunshine.

Wednesday will be another hot one with partly sunny skies, and highs in the mid-upper 80s! With high humidity, the heat index could reach 90 in some spots! Wow!!

The warmth continues right into Thursday, with a better chance of scattered storms, and highs in the low 80s.

The pattern will shift by Friday, with the ridge breaking down, and an active, much cooler set-up by next weekend. I do not expect a washout next weekend, but rain showers are possible Friday-next weekend, and highs near 70 Friday, then down in the mid 60s next weekend.

Be sure to get outside today, as it is going to be a warm, beautiful weather day! Have a great day!
